What Are Market Updates?

Market Updates let Rentometer Pro subscribers schedule a Pro Report to refresh automatically, either quarterly or twice a year.

When the next update is due, Rentometer generates a new Pro Report using current rental data and sends it directly to your inbox. You can also add an external recipient, such as a client, property owner, colleague, or business partner.

How to Schedule a Market Update

There are two ways to get started.

From a new Pro Report

Search an address, generate a Pro Report, and click the green Set Market Update button.

From a report you’ve already run

Go to My Reports, find the Pro Report you want to keep tracking, and click + Market Update.

From there, choose how often you want the report refreshed—quarterly or every six months—and select who should receive it.

That’s it. When your next update is due, a refreshed Pro Report will arrive automatically. No re-entering the address, setting a calendar reminder, or remembering which properties you wanted to revisit.

When Should You Use a Market Update?

The value of a Market Update isn’t just having another report in your inbox. It’s having fresh rental research show up around the time you’re likely to need it.

Here are a few ways to put them to work.

Before a lease renewal

If a lease renewal is coming up later in the year, schedule a Market Update for the property now. When it’s time to evaluate the rent, you’ll have a more current look at asking rents and nearby comparable properties to reference.

After purchasing an investment property

The numbers you used when evaluating a deal won’t stay the same forever. Investors can schedule Market Updates after purchasing a property to periodically check how the surrounding rental market is changing.

To keep property owners informed

Property managers can send refreshed Pro Reports directly to owners, creating a recurring, data-backed touchpoint without manually rebuilding the same rental analysis each time.

To stay in touch with past clients

Real estate agents can schedule rental market research for investment properties they’ve helped clients buy. It’s a simple way to continue providing useful information after the transaction is complete.
